A Full Wedding Day Photography/Videography Timeline

Pre-wedding


3 hours before the ceremony:

photographer/videographer arrives, and start to shoot details - bridal dress, shoes, jewelries, grooms's shoes, tie, bowtie, cufflink, watch, whiskey bottle, etc.


2.5 hours before the ceremony:

Getting ready photos -

  • Bride side:
  • Put on makeup/hair (takes at the end of makeup/hair session)
  • Pajama photos with bridesmaids (optional)
  • Bride’s mother helps button up dress;
  • Bridesmaids help with veil;
  • Put on earrings, shoes;
  • Groom side:
  • Groom’s mother/groomsman helps put on jacket
  • Adjust tie/bowtie
  • Put on boutonniere


2 hours before the ceremony:

  • Bride portraits,
  • Groom portraits,
  • Groomsmen's photos - usually taken outside,
  • Bridal party photos - usually taken outside.


1.5 hour before the ceremony:

  • First look/first touch: groom & bride,
  • First look: father & bride, or mother-in-law with the bride,
  • Wedding party photos (if time permits);


1 hour before the ceremony:

The bride usually will stop taking outside photos.


Ceremony:

Enter, overview shot of the ceremony, both angles closer up, exchange rings, kiss, exits.

Post-Ceremony:


Right after the ceremony:

  • Family photos,
  • Wedding party photos,
  • Bride & groom photos


Usually no photos are taken during food time.

Go with your timeline afterwards for the first dance, mother-son dance, father-daughter

dance, speech/toasts, cutting cake, tossing the bouquet, send off, etc.
